I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Despite flirtations with Paris, Buenos Aires, and Istanbul, I continue to call Seattle home intermittently since 1999. I live on Capitol Hill with my two pug dogs and cat “Fatty.” Being raised by a hippie father in his sculpture studio, I grew up surrounded by the arts and thus discovered steak tartar and caesar salad at the age of seven. I can remember it like it was yesterday and have never been the same.
I love Seattle, food, people and my job. The city and her streets are my office, the citizens my coworkers, and the Pike Place Market my food court. I think this Bukowski quote really embodies my personal philosophy and is the best way to get to know who I am.
“We are here to drink beer. We are here to laugh at the odds. We are here to live our lives so well that death will tremble to come and take us.”
