As a child, I once lived on a farm about nine miles outside of a speck of a town called Earth in the state of cotton, cattle, and cowboys: Texas. At the time I didn’t realize how fortunate I was to have access to seasonal produce from plant to plate as fast as you could pick and cook it. I have always had a fondness for cooking, but it wasn’t until life took me first to Henderson, NV and then to Reno that I truly began to venture forth into the culinary world.
In June of 2009 I fled Reno on a whim to live with two of my best friends in Seattle, found work first as a line cook in a local pub then soon after as a pantry chef at an upscale restaurant, and quickly decided that my love of cooking was better pursued as a hobby to be shared with friends and family.
My favorite style of food is, without a doubt, Mexican. As for a specific food, frequency dictates my edible enticement of choice to be yellow corn tortilla chips with whatever salsa I can get my hands on. Aside from the culinary arts, I enjoy strategy board games, pc/video games, epic fantasy novels, and the occasional stint of disc golf or softball.
