I was born in Boston, spent my childhood in Chicago, and have grown up on the shores of Seattle’s Lake Washington. I earned my wings in Bellingham and Edinburgh, immersing myself in the histories of the civilzations great and small located throughout the Old World. My studies have enriched my experiences with food considerably, leading to a cerebral love affair with as many of the tasty treats the world has to offer as I can get my hands on. Be it squeezable shrimp pate spread, whisky haggis, or beans on toast, I’ve pretty much eaten it all…in one form or another.
I’m endlessly amused by the history of our delightful Pike Place Market, not to mention that of Seattle at large, and am always eager to jaw off some ears with my tales, whether they pertain to anything relevant or not. When not putting strangers at the bar to sleep with these rollicking tales of 1900s historia, I can be found working alongside a local avant-garde clothing company, altering innocent bystanders’ impressions of what clothing means and can do. Oh yeah, and kimchi is and will always be the one thing I cannot handle. At all.
