Founder & CEO

I am a self-proclaimed “food evangelist.” This translates into a huge love of eating, shopping for, and talking about, FOOD. I studied Management and Marketing at the Wharton School, then moved to Chicago to work in Brand Management at Quaker Oats. My husband's job brought us to Seattle, where we've never been happier to be so close to fresh seafood, local wine, and artisan cheese.

In my spare time, I enjoy snowboarding, reading cooking magazines, and watching reality TV. My favorite foods include: foie gras, scrapple (yes, I know these two couldn't be further from one another), sushi, raw oysters, and shrimp and grits. You couldn't pay me to eat durian. GROSS!

I have a long history with food as I have been eating ever since I was born.  I truly enjoy grocery shopping especially in foreign countries where the inventory of new items seems unlimited. I love adventurous eating and am always game to try anything; anyone releasing a "new" flavor is guaranteed to have me as a customer at least once.  As a native Seattleite, I am always excited to keep track of the city's restaurants, especially the burgeoning street food scene.

Other than being interested in all things food-related, I enjoy reading, running, and travel.  I believe peanut butter goes well with pretty much everything.

Born in California and raised in Washington, I am a voracious, loquacious West Coast native. I have explored Seattle's cuisine professionally for over six years, gleaning knowledge about food and wine from the experts: local chefs, sommeliers, fish mongers, baristas and restaurant owners! There is nothing I love more than sharing what I've learned with fellow food-lovers.

I start each day with coffee or espresso -- no exceptions! I spend my free time cooking, reading, eating, traveling, shoe shopping, and chatting with family and friends. Although I used to be a ridiculously picky eater, I've now discovered an immense love for all foods previously considered inedible...except mushrooms. Many of my favorite foods are green: broccoli, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, and Granny Smith apples. If I had to eat the same thing every day for the rest of my life, it would be macaroni and cheese.  I love noodles of all kinds, creative pizzas, and (of course) anything coffee-related.

Originally from Faribault, Minnesota, I moved to Washington in late 2000. I have found my home here in Seattle. I live here with my wife, son, a dog, a couple of cats and a snake. I have spent about 12 years working in a variety of restaurants making delicious creations, but also learning about how food changes and impacts our collective history and lives. I love to share good food with people...and a good story and a bad joke!

I enjoy camping, hiking, white water rafting and traveling the world. My favorite foods would have to be fresh organic salad, salmon on the grill and some homemade apple & rhubarb pie. You couldn't pay me to eat...wait a sec, who am I kidding? You could pay me to eat about anything. I'll try anything once!

Having been raised on small farms in Washington where my family and neighbors grew most of our own food and also living off the coast in the Quinalt Nation where fishing and digging for clams is a career and a common pastime, I consider myself to have a close relationship with the food I eat. I am an off-and-on vegan so I am thrilled that many of the partners on our tours offer delicious alternatives to dairy, meat and seafood. In fact, I love the Seattle food scene so much that I gave up my strict vegan diet for a year when I moved here! I consider myself an adventurous eater, and although I don't eat much meat or dairy, I do make exceptions for work-related "research," meals cooked by friends, and meals during travel.

Originally from all over Washington, I moved to Seattle from Olympia three years ago after graduating from the Evergreen State College. If you couldn't tell by my name, I am Mexican-American so my favorite foods include anything spicy such as Mexican, Indian, Vietnamese and Thai food. My favorites include a lot of veggies, mochi, sushi, pho, paella, peanut sauce, pozole, veggie dogs, ramen, antyhing with truffle oil, and raw oysters. I also love salty foods and almost anything lime-flavored. My non-food related hobbies include horror movies, comic books, comedy shows and continuing to be mediocre at playing the drums.

I was raised in the back woods of northern Idaho, off-grid and usually barefoot. After graduating from University of Idaho with a BFA in Theatre and spending time abroad, I moved to Seattle. I was an incredibly picky eater as a child, and the world of comestible delights continues to bloom for me. I'll try anything once, and I rarely find something I truly don't like (canned beets are still gross).

In my free time, I do Theatre around town, mostly backstage. I snowboard, go to the dog park, and jump at any chance to get out of the city and back into the woods. My bookshelf is filled with a comprehensive selection of the finest comic books ever written.

Tour Guide

I grew up in Tacoma, Washington and spent most of my childhood entertaining friends, climbing trees,  singing, dancing, biking and making phony foods. Today, the food's real, but otherwise I have not changed much. My adventuresome spirit and insatiable curiosity have led me to several states and countries for school, volunteering and work in a myriad of professions from postal carrier to cantor, camp cook, home remodeler, teacher naturalist, animal caretaker, aerobic instructor, artist and tour guide. Where ever I travel, I seek out farmer's markets and enjoy swapping recipes, stories and ditties with the vendors and performers.

When in the kitchen, I like to turn on some music, pull out the cutting board and let the fragrances of fresh herbs and chopping rhythms fill the air. My favorite recipes use a variety of colorful ingredients and spices: fish tacos, roasted vegetable sandwiches, Vietnamese-style spring rolls with spicy, chunky peanut sauce, grilled fish topped salads and soups. My favorite food is watermelon and I tend to stear clear of mystery meats.

Tour Guide

As a lover of travel and food, I associate my favorite meals with some of my favorite trips. Whether it is Pan Fried Shrimp with Garlic on the coast of Spain, or Goat Curry in the mountains of Nepal, I have had the pleasure of eating some great food in some amazing places. Being a Seattle resident for the past 12 years has allowed me to get to know our local food scene. I've spent some time as a vegetarian, as well as dealt with a number of food allergies, so I understand and appreciate eating what's right for your body.

Having grown up in Montana and Alaska, I love camping and backpacking. I have also appeared on many of Seattle's stages in my nine years of being a professional actor. My favorite foods are BBQ's of all kinds and I will eat anything, except Lutefisk. Okay, and Gefilte fish.

Tour Guide

I was born in Boston, spent my childhood in Chicago, and have grown up on the shores of Seattle's Lake Washington. I earned my wings in Bellingham and Edinburgh, immersing myself in the histories of the civilzations great and small located throughout the Old World. My studies have enriched my experiences with food considerably, leading to a cerebral love affair with as many of the tasty treats the world has to offer as I can get my hands on. Be it squeezable shrimp pate spread, whisky haggis, or beans on toast, I've pretty much eaten it all...in one form or another.

I'm endlessly amused by the history of our delightful Pike Place Market, not to mention that of Seattle at large, and am always eager to jaw off some ears with my tales, whether they pertain to anything relevant or not. When not putting strangers at the bar to sleep with these rollicking tales of 1900s historia, I can be found working alongside a local avant-garde clothing company, altering innocent bystanders' impressions of what clothing means and can do. Oh yeah, and kimchi is and will always be the one thing I cannot handle. At all.

Tour Guide

I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, and despite flirtations with Paris, Buenos Aires and Istanbul, I continue to call Seattle home intermittently since 1999. I live on Capitol Hill with my two pug dogs and cat "Fatty." Being raised by a hippie father in his sculpture studio, I grew up surrounded by the arts and thus discovered steak tartar and caesar salad at the age of 7. I can remember it like it was yesterday and have never been the same.

I love Seattle, food, people and my job. The city and her streets are my office, the citizens my coworkers, and the Pike Place Market my food court. I think this Bukowski quote really embodies my personal philosophy and is the best way to get to know who I am.

"We are here to drink beer. We are here to laugh at the odds. We are here to live our lives so well that death will tremble to come and take us."

I hope to see you on my tour. Cheers!
