Answers
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, advance ticket purchase is required. Tours typically sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.

Can I get a refund or reschedule my tickets?
Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded or rescheduled because your space is being guaranteed on the tour. Our tours often sell out. No partial credits or rescheduling is allowed for partial attendance, no shows, or late arrivals. It is your responsibility to show up at the right location, on time. The tours depart promptly.

If a tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?
We do not provide a waiting list. If a date and time is sold out, there is always a chance that we will add an additional tour on that day. Please contact us to let us know what date you are interested in.

If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?
If you are bringing a child that is 2 years of age or younger, and he/she will not be eating during the tour, you do not need to purchase a ticket for him/her. If your child is 3 years of age or older, you will need to purchase a ticket for him/her, regardless if he/she will be participating in the tastings.

What types of foods are served on the tours?
On our tours, you will taste foods and beverages that Seattle is famous for, and some that are just unique and hard to find anywhere else. For specific details on what is sampled, visit our tour-specific pages: Pike Place Market Tours, Gourmet Seattle Tour, and Coffee & Chocolate Indulgence Tour.
Please note: Food tastings are subject to change without notice.
How much food is served on the tours?
Our tours include 7-10 tasting locations, with 18-28 bite-size samples (depends on the tour) along the way. For most people, it is enough for a meal.

Are there any beverages served on the tours?
Yes! We sample coffee and tea on the Pike Place Market Tours. On the Gourmet Seattle Tour, we also sample wine, beer, sangria, and coffee. On the Coffee & Chocolate Indulgence Tour, we sample all kinds of coffee and chocolate-related beverages, wine, and cocktails! At the start of all tours, we provide you with a bottle of water.

Should I eat anything before coming on the tour?
We recommend that you eat only a light meal before joining us for the tour. The amount of food sampled on the tour is enough such that most people don't need lunch afterwards, or will opt for a later dinner.
Are there vegetarian options?
Yes! If we know in advance, we will do our best to make appropriate substitutions for you. However, on the Gourmet Seattle Tour, we do not have vegetarian substitutions at the deli meat and salami tasting stops.

What if I have dietary restrictions?
For all tours, please be sure and let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, nut allergy, etc.) or is pregnant (e.g. can't drink alcohol, not comofortable with cheese and seafood, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. We will do our best to accommodate your needs. With the Gourmet Seattle Tour, we can substitute age-appropriate non-alcoholic beverages, and accomodate most other dietary restrictions as well. However, we do not have vegetarian substitutions at the salami tasting stop. On the Coffee & Chocolate Indulgence Tour, we can substitute hot chocolate and/or tea for guests who would prefer that instead of coffee.

Are there kosher options?
The majority of the food tastings are not guaranteed kosher.

Do we only walk around and sample food?
Absolutely not! You will not only taste locally made foods and beverages that will awaken your palate, but you will also learn about and meet the storied characters and vendors that give the Market and Seattle life, and soak up the rich and vibrant history. We’ll also share some spots that even locals overlook!

Are there any age restrictions?
Children are welcome on the tours, but please bear in mind that some children have a limited attention span and therefore a 2-3 hour tour may not be appropriate for them. Parents know their children best and should assess the situation individually. Since there is a lot of standing, walking, and Market congestion, please consider this when deciding whether the tours are appropriate for your child.
If your child is 2 years of age or younger and will not be eating, you will not need to purchase a ticket for him/her. If your child is 3 years of age or older, you will need to purchase a ticket for him/her, regardless if he/she will be eating.
Please bear in mind that strollers and wheelchairs are not allowed on the tour.
Also, the tours require a certain level of physical stamina. We are on our feet for approximately 2-3 hours. There are no hills on the Pike Place Market: Classics Tour, but there are a few steps and slight inclines on the Pike Place Market: Off the Beaten Path Tour. Tastings are on the go and seating opportunities are limited and sporadic. On the Gourmet Seattle Tour, be prepared to cover 1.2 miles of ground, which include two blocks at a slight incline, and up and down three sets of stairs. Although this is a longer tour, you will have an opportunity to sit at every other tasting stop. We cover 1.4 miles of ground on the Coffee & Chocolate Indulgence Tour, with no hills, but does involve going up and down four steps.

How about my dog?
Due to the various food establishments we visit, pets of any kind are not allowed on the tours. There is a doggy daycare facility near Pike Place Market called Wags of Belltown.

Do the tours have anything to offer a native Seattleite?
Definitely! Many of our attendees live right here in Seattle. Locals often join us to learn about the great food finds in the “Heart and Soul of Seattle” that have been under their noses the entire time! Seattle is brimming with lively tales and history that you will be surprised by! This tour is a fantastic way to rediscover your own hometown.

Are the tours accessible by baby stroller and wheelchair?
No, unfortunately we are not allowed to have baby strollers or wheelchairs on our tours, due to the crowds and tight spaces in the Market and the food establishments we visit. Some of the food artisans and businesses visited are very small, crowded, and not accessible in a tour group of up to 16 guests.
The Pike Place Market and city of Seattle as a whole are generally accessible. With or without our tours, we encourage you to explore both to the fullest extent.
